[ICOM] IC 765 Issue

OK guys - pardon me digging way back in my memory cells. I seem to recall a
problem like this long ago with one of my radios. I think it may have been
an ICOM, but not for certain. So let me toss this out there and see if you
can catch my drift and run with it.

If it helps - you're welcome. If it is of no use to you, I will refund
every penny you paid me for it.

I had the same problem, that the RX seemed off. IIRC, there was a pot that
was used for adjustment near the RIT circuit, but somehow it changed the
receiver freq too. I was quite surprised at this as I thought this pot
should be used to zero the RIT, not the RX. But I found it adjusted the RX
freq +/- a bit. Cleaning that pot and zeroing it up fixed the problem.

Again, I hope it helps. It isn't much to go on, maybe nothing at all. But
it popped into my mind when you first asked the question..... and you
haven't had any better suggestions.

Good luck.

My 761 has the same problem, except it is 100Hz down. Since I have never
heard of a fix, I simply leave it set that way. But I do have to try to
remember when switching to SSB (which I do very, very infrequently) to hit
the clear control so folks won't get upset with me being off frequency.

I never saw a responses, Nate, so if you got any perhaps you could pass
them along to me directly.
