[ICOM] IC-271H + poor rx

Hello dear HAM-fellows. My VHF rig has been few times on Icom service and poor RX performance has not
improved at all. Im hoping to find some answers from here. 

Today I tested to open repeater from 70km away which usually copies okay to my mobile stick:

Cheap Chinese HT = RX = 59++
IC-271H = RX = no copy

Tomorrow in heading to a friend of mine and we will put the rig on the test-bench, any tips what we should check first
when trying to improve the RX sensitivy, or is the rig just so old that even never HT's beat the crap out of it?

I have not yet contacted the Icom certified service again as I know they are extra busy and fixing the rig could take months.
