[ICOM] PRO III and shut down

Usually Phil I run about 50 into the amplifier but if barefoot I run 100 but 
no problems in  past couple of years. Today I was on CW with 50 watts into 
the amp, NOT on RTTY .hi hi  The manual spec sheet says power is 5-100 
variable on SSB, CW, RTTY and FM. It does say 5-40 but only says AM.  And 
under RTTY use section, it does not say to limit to 50 watts, no mention of 
NOT using 100 watts ( as the spec sheet indicates is OK too). But I have 
always wondered.  The cooling fins do not get hot with what little RTTY 
calling I do, calling 10 seconds and listening and my reports are about 10 
seconds too. NO long QSOs at all, just my call and reports and 73 and such..

100w on RTTY could be the problem. It is 100% duty cycle, much over 50W
is taking a chance with a PROIII on RTTY.
