It works! I got off work this morning at 0600. I drove home and took a
nap. When I got up I put the finishing touched on my /pm system. I took it
to a shoe repair shop to have the pack straps stitched.
When I got home, I couldn't resist. I put the antenna together, walked in
the street in front of the house, and got on 10m.
So what did I hear? HK0NA working a pile-up... listening up 5. So I set
the split on the IC-703+, and gave a call.
And guess what. Yup - he answered my first call. He was really surprised
when I told him 10 watts with a CB antenna on a backpack frame.
Malpelo Island, almost on the equator in the Pacific Ocean, S. of Panama, W.
of Colombia. That will be the first DX country for KD9KC/pm. And 99 more
to go! And 50 states to go. This is going to be FUN!!! Anyone else want
to give it a try? I can help you build your system.
Come join the fun.
