[ICOM] Dualing mic jacks issue

John: Sounds like the soundcard is loading down the mic.  I know the 706
MKIIG has a data jack, and you may be able to connect the soundcard there.
If you can find a PS2 mouse or keyboard, you may be able to use the cable,
but watch it, as many mice-keyboards do not have all the wires. You might
also see if you can find a PS2 extension cable, as these had all the wires.
If you want to keep going in via mic jack, try a resistor in series with
the soundcard audio. Try 4.7 k and you will have to turn up the soundcard
gain. You may have to use a different value to get the correct balance.
Higher for less soundcard and more microphone, lower for more soundcard and
less microphone. Use the Data jack if you can. That should isolate the two
audio sources AND, it may bypass some audip processing and give you a
cleaner RTTY signal. --Mike, WV2ZOW
