[ICOM] 756 Pro3 Question

Unless you plan on having BOTH amps on, then just run a "Y" phono plug
connection, with one going to each amp OR if you use the 12v relay system
as a "buffer" then you still only need ONE relay with two phono plug wire
connectors gg to each amplifier ... If you had two relays you would still
have to have one amp turned off manually, so knowing that, you are only
needing one PTT line for HF or VHF and that can be directly from the PROIII
or from the isolation relay. The PROIII internal relay handles most 12v PTT
amp line amp draw with no problems. I run a Y connector to my Ten Tec Titan
amp and other lead to my SB220 6m amp and have had NO problems.

Simply use a very low current relay powered by 12VDC and have that trigger
two other relays A & B that will each activate one of you amps.

Make sure that very low current relay is really low. I already had hang-up
problems with a small relay triggered by the 756 PROIII internal switching
controls. Had to use a diode and ferrite bead choke in the lead wire going
to the socket on rear panel.

As long as you only have one amp on at a time, this should work .

Subject: [ICOM] 756 Pro3 Question

I just bought an Icom 756Pro3 and have a question for all you Icom gurus.

I have two separate amplifiers that I plan to use on this rig...One for
6 meters only and another for HF only. Is there any way to set up the
amplifier keying circuits so that when I am on 6 meters it only keys up
the 6 meter amplifier and the same when I am on HF or do I just run them
in parallel and only power up the amplifier for the band I am currently
operating. I have read thru the manual but cannot see anything like
what I propose to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, in advance and 73.
