[ICOM] Oh NO!!!!

I am SO glad I still have my IC-781/IC-3KL/IC-AT500. It may all be getting
a little older - but it has not failed me yet. The last scare turned out to
be the Surge Suppresser doing its job - by failing in a spectacular way.
The IC-781 is FINE!

Icom makes some of the best receivers but their protection for finals,
drivers, predrivers is not very hearty. I also have an early version 746pro
and it had to be fixed for the same problem. There has been a debate as to
whether ESD causes the problems. Icom says it is. Mine died after a cold
start-up after not being connected to power and antennas. I wish they were
built like the 751A.
