[ICOM] IC-PW1 Antenna Tuner

I have two PW1 amps. One is the old style and one the new style.

Your amp is the new style and it is working correctly, unfortunately.

If I am going to monitor some frequency for a while, then I don't power on
the newer amp.

But usually I power on the amp first and then the radio, if I am going to
operate.

Subject: [ICOM] IC-PW1 Antenna Tuner

Hello Group

Looking for some help

I purchased a used PW1 which is supposed to be 6 months old and working
perfectly. It is mated to a IC-7600. Serial No 03010xx

Whilst I was going through the setup procedure the book suggests that the
antenna tuner in the PW1 will work with the power off along with the input
switch and antenna selector. Power is provided from the 7600 acc cable 13.8v
supply .

The input selector and antenna switches work ok with the power off and the
input, antenna select and meter switch leds all illuminate with the
selections made.
The tuner however will only work when the amp is turned on.

Logic suggests that the tuner should be operational with the radio on and
the amp off.

Is this normal or is the book misleading??????

Many thanks

Trevor
