[ICOM] Mobile mounting bracket.

I have used a scrap piece of 0.063 thick aluminum and bent to fit the radio.
I mounted it with stainless steel U-Bolts to the handlebars. To protect the
handlebars, I slipped plastic tubing over the U-Bolts and had rubber glued
to the bottom of the bracket where it was over the handlebar. Holes were
drilled in the bracket to fit the radio and quick spin bolts were used to
mount the radio. You want to make sure there is sufficient clearance for the
U-Bolt heads.
I used an IC-228 on the handlebar with a 7.5 AH battery in an aluminum
enclosed box that had a half wave antenna mounted on top. That was attached
to the rear rack. I used this setup many times for Marathons when I was
following either the lead male or female runners. Some courses were in
downtown areas with 30 and 40 story buildings and handhelds with repeaters
just did not work.
The other option is to look at RAM-Mounts. There are several different
options there that can be used on the bicycle or motorcycle with your own
mounting bracket.
As an example check these out:

I built up a universal mount to use on a bicycle and motorcycle for a
portable APRS setup that was built into a Pelican 1030 case.
