I agree. Supply chain management disruption can cause profound effects on the supply of parts from
affected suppliers / vendors. Unless (safety stock) parts are held worldwide by distributors in other nations, you may have *real* problems with acquisition and lead times.
One example of this issue is lean manufacturing / principles. Lean manufacturers do not warehouse components beyond their production orders. If component manufacturing lines get shut down, all they have is a limited safety stock, just enough to get them through a worst-case, short-term downtime. Specialized, high-dollar components (filters, etc) are stricken first, as they will have very limited shelf stock.
