who cares? ten tec is still in buisness......(BTW---my main radio is a fully modded and filtered icom 765)

Thanks, Adam.  I knew you'd come through.  I think there may be some
interruptions in the supply line of ham radio gear but I think also that
won't have much of an effect on us.

Hi Al,

Icom's factories are in Wakayama, 100 km SW of Osaka. Their corporate HQ is
in Osaka. Both cities are in the Kansai region (southern Japan), which was
unaffected. 

Icom's Tokyo office sustained some damage, and their Sendai office was
severely damaged. All their employees are OK, but some of the Sendai staff
had difficulty contacting their families.

I am not sure about Kenwood. Much of their manufacturing is outside Japan
(e.g. Singapore), so they will be able to keep products in the pipeline -
as long as they can still procure parts from their suppliers in Japan.

Good to know.  That puts Yaesu's situation is better light.  That's far
more newsworthy than idle speculation.  Now, what about Icom and Kenwood?
