Hi Dave,

The replies (sp.) were all oriented around the 756Pro series, but as I
recall the 706 series will transmit on 60m after the "MARS mod".

None of your replys addressed the IC-706 series which I seem to recall could
be used on 60M without modification or BPF concerns. 
It's worth investigation seeing as you have a 706m2 available. 
Perhaps Adam can confirm my memory.
