[ICOM] Icom 756PRO as a CW contest rig

I have used the following rigs, at a large contest station, with very good  
antennas. This is what I can tell you. Specs are over rated. Period. you 
can  look at numbers, and its real world that counts.
 
Pro 3..great rig, I like it better than the 781. 
IC 781 w/INRAD roofing filter. Great rig..
IC 7800  great rig. Can't hear anything that the PRO or 781  can't.
K3 harsh sounding rx to me, very tiring, selective, but, no different than  
the other 3.

I have  the K2 and it scores very high using www.sherweng.com measurements 
(and  ARRL test lab) and I've learned "numbers" aren't  everything!!

MIke; I wouldn't dare try to select the proper  rig for you until I know 
exactly your operating preferences , habits , and  financial abilities were.
For a good look at what each rigs numbers are,  take a look at Bob 
Sherwoods 
web site and look at his  www.sherweng.com
The numbers on the Elecraft K-3 and Yaesu FT-5000 both  look quite good. 
Also 
the Icom 7800, and 7700.
