[ICOM] IC-208H as a "remote base" for an Arcom repeater controller

Has anyone done this?  I'm going to put you in contact with someone 
off-list who is looking to do it.  The questions are around how you 
"inject" BCD into the 208H?  (Or is that even possible?)

Arcom claims:  Support is included for Icom, Kenwood and Yaesu 
HF/VHF/UHF radios equipped with a computer port, for a fully frequency 
agile remote base!

Is the port intended for TNC connection somehow able to do this?

The Arcom manual makes it seem like Kenwood radios are strongly 
preferred for this application.  :-(
