[ICOM] ICOM 756 PRO 3 - PTT?

I recently set up a Rigblaster Plus at a friends place. What appeared to
be the PTT connection on the back (labeled PTT IN/OUT) is a misnomer. At
first I thought this RCA jack was the source of PTT from the Rigblaster
to the radio. It's not!
The PTT for the radio is sent via the RJ45 microphone connection to the
front of the radio. The jack on the back of the Rigblaster Plus is used
for connecting a footswitch. Until I figured that out, I was having
"issues" with PTT on an IC-756 Pro II radio as well.
The second issue with that particular unit is the need to open it up and
switch jumper on the J5 header to change between CW and FSK. Although
this interface does function, IMO it's a very poor design. They saved
fifty cents in parts and are generating hundreds of hours of wasted time
in support issues.
