Jim,
Thanks for the suggestions. Over the weekend I will look at the logger
you suggest, and give it a try. I found a used CT-17 very cheaply. The
guy didn't have the radio(s) it would work with anymore, so it was
basically a give away.
Many thanks for your time and suggestions.
Best Regards,
Jim T.

Jim,
Using the band data is a somewhat complex interface.
Many Logging programs will do what you want. I use Logger32 (freebie).
it interfaces with the IC-735 and provides automatic antenna switching
based on the operating frequency. The Logging setup defines what antenna
you want for a given frequency range. It supports up to 16 antennas
using the computer LPT port. All you need is the CI-V interface to the
IC-735 and some relay controls. Suggested relay control schematics are
in the Logger32 help file.
I use a FT-920 as my primary radio and a IC-735 as my backup. Once the
logging program is setup, it will play with either or both radios in a
SO2R configuration. It also supports antenna rotor control.
The CT-17 is a CI-V interface to provide for computer control. You will
need one or a clone. There are many schematics on the web for a roll
your own.
Also several companies provide clones at a great cost savings.
