[ICOM] is there some sort of protector on the RX ANT, input of a 756 Pro?

Greetings;

I have been using Harris/ R.F. Communications RF-522 receiver protectors
for a number of years, both commercially and on my Icom transceivers,
with excellent results.

If they are a) still available and b) can be found at "reasonable"
prices (quite costly from the manufacturer - but a lot less expensive
than front end repairs) I would strongly recommend them. They are about
the size of a classic "bathtub" capacitor with BNC females for input and
output connections. They are solid state devices; I believe high power
capability fast response Schottky diodes.
