[ICOM] Reasonable price for IC-970A with UX-R96

Disagree completely. These can go for BIG BUCKS. But not this one as
it is common. This one has all of the expensive options missing. Not
interesting thus no one is responding.

The 970 is one of the most collectable and BEST non-DSP and
non-microprocessor radios ever made. One of the biggest problems is that
it is all the options that make it that way. Very little goes wrong with
them although each requires alignment and pot cleaning by now, and nearly
everything save the display is easily replaced. They are easily component
level serviced.

This one will sell for a grand. Nice ones with everything can go for 5K
easily and NEVER go on-line.

Rare options are the 1.2G and the 2.4G modules, and the TV adapter. The
rest are easy to find but finding them is where the value is.

Just for your info - I have seen this post 3 times now. It IS getting out.

You are probably not getting a reply because either

1. No one really knows.
2. The value isn't worth considering.

As for myself - while it is a great radio, it is old and unless you have a
parts
rig to cannibalize, you may be buying a chassis full of trouble. I would
hesitate to offer much for it. I do have 5 complete IC-901 radios, plus 2
parts
radios - the only reason I keep them is because they do so much and I do
have
plenty of spares.

Probably not what you wanted to hear..... sorry.
