Hi Bill,
You would connect the IC-7600 to your computer via a USB cable, and plug the
SteppIR controller in to the IC-7600 via the CI-V (Remote) jack.
The Icom USB driver is required for the USB connection. It is downloadable
from the Icom Japan site.

Cheers for now, 73,

Subject: [ICOM] IC-7600 interfaced to SteppIR and Logging program
I'm new to Icom radios but old to SteppIR. I've used the SteppIR controller
with the Yaesu FT-2000 and the Flex-3000. I've used a "Y" cable to allow
the FT-2000 and my logging program to simultaneously read the band and
frequency output to track the radio. I've done the same thing with my
Flex-3000 using the DDUtil software designed for this purpose.
The SteppIR web site states that a "Y" cable is not necessary for the
SteppIR and a logging program to simultaneously track an Icom radio. I am
about to get an IC-7600 and can't see how this would work without some sort
of "Y" cable.
Does anyone on the list have experience interfacing the IC-7600, SteppIR and
logging program as I have described? I use ACLog for logging.
Any help to this Icom "newbie" would be appreciated.
73,
Bill
