Andre,

I gave Icom's tech support a call. I thought they had changed the
warranty to 1 year from Data of purchase regardless of ownership.

They did that about a year and a half ago. So if you purchase a Used
radio for another owner, and he has proof of purchase as that trumps
anything else, the warranty will still be good for you.
So try to get the original proof of purchase from him.

Bud was right for years and years the Icom warranty only applied to the
original purchaser but not any longer, give them a call if you want to
hear it directly.

Products purchased in a foreign country are still not warranted by Icom
America. The reason is Icom America stands the cost of warranty repairs
and that cost is factored into the selling price to the dealer.
it may only be a book keeping issue to some but purchase the radio from
an Offshore Dealer and its not warranted in the US.

Enjoy your IC-7600.
I just bought a new IC-7000 recently have yet to turn it on but got the
control cable installed last weekend so I am half way home with the
install.
