Renee,
Final note. I have run the 706 Original for 13+years. A High Sierra
Screwdriver antenna. Ameritron mobile amp.
There are some great sites on how to mount equipment on the internet.
The hams note on two rigs (HF and 2Meters is a great suggestion.) I may do
that next go around , even though I own a multi-rig.
Next to your rig choice the Antenna is next.
What every you choose enjoy it and have fun. I have run mobile since 1977.
In those days I ran a Swan 120(tube driven, a Heath AC to DC converter/Swan
antenna) I drifted up and down 20 meters for years. It was a hoot.
