Hi Chuck,
The IC-7700 is virtually the same platform as the IC-7800 (in fact it
incorporates some performance improvements over the 7800). I anticipate that
its product life will be comparable to that of the IC-7800, as their
architecture is almost identical.
Cheers for now, 73,

I really can't agree with the no-market theory for used Pro 3's. For
$1800-2000, you can get a rig that performs dang near as well as the 7600,
for TWO THOUSAND dollars less! I think ICOM and Yaesu will find there isn't
the market there for $4k radios as much as they think. The 7700 will go
obsolete soon, and your choice will be and entry $1k rig, a $4k rig, or the
Caddy $10k rig. It will alienate MANY of us, myself included, that thought
$2600 was about the most I'd ever spend on a new rig. No way in Gods green
earth I will ever buck up $4k + for a rig, and, I can afford it. That's not
the issue.
I think there was a rush of guys dumping the P3 in order to get a 7600, and,
that will soon level out, and the market will rebound for the P2 and P3,
solely because they are affordable, very good performers.
Just my 2 cents..
