Hi Craig,

Matt has developed a PSU rebuild procedure which involves removing the
original +40V PSU and installing an OEM switch-mode module. You may wish to
contact him at kk5dr at kk5dr.com

Icom Bellevue will no longer repair the 4KL PSU, as parts are NLA.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [ICOM] ICOM IC-4KL amp power supply dead

Hi gang,
Appears I have hit the dreaded demise of my 4KL power supply. Have +8v on
pin 1 of the ACC DIN plug from the IC-775DSP.

Has anybody been able to find the schematic or reverse-engineer rebuilding
the 48Vds at 60A (or 40Vdc at 50A) PSU in an affordable way since Matt KK5DR
several years ago warned of the headache, obstacles, and high cost to custom
rebuild the PSU? Has anybody had experience with ICOM Bellvue repairing
such a failed PSU? Cost?
TNX and 73
Craig
