Hello Group
I have an IC-7000 about 10 months old. I have 2 items that I am queering. Both items are noticeable in a mobile or base situation with different antennas.
With the tone Squelch on , I still hear the squelch tail (very loud) when the other station transmitter is turned off.
When operating on either vhf or uhf (anywhere within the band limits) with the antenna connected' I get an"S" meter reading (deflection) on and off at about 1 second intervals (pulse) up to strength 9. Open the squelch fully and the "S" meter still deflects with only white noise heard.
Disconnect the antenna and the problem is not evident.
This is also evident in the mobile in very remote locations (outback Australia) i.e. no QRM
Same antennas other BRAND radio's the problem is not evident.
Local Icom agent believes this is normal.
Do all IC-7000 operate like this or do I may be have a problem?
Thanks in anticipation
Trevor
