Hmmmm. That might mean a return to hams
using cast off R.R. equipment on amateur
frequencies, as we did in the early and
mid 1960s!

Icom currently has VHF and UHF trunking products. And they are working
on very narrow band FM using a 6,25 KHz channel spacing on Land Mobile
transceivers which is FCC mandated..
This means Digital modulation as the old analog way of setting it to
5KHz will not work with such narrow channel spacing I don't think we
will see that set up in amateur products though, there are some trade offs
going so narrow at least trying to do it conventionally not digitally.
