[ICOM] Use of FL232 in original 706

I bought an FL232 without reading my manual first.  The original 706 does not have a menu item to enable the FL232.  But the center frequency of the FL232 and both the FL101 and the FL100 are the same.  The bandwidth of the FL232 is between that of the FL100 and FL101.  So is there any reason why I couldn't select either the FL100 or 101 when an FL232 is installed?  Has anyone done this?
