[ICOM] QST Review of IC-7600

Hi Bob,

The IC-7600 Dual Watch is identical to that of the Pro3. The A and B IF
signals are combined and fed to a common IF chain and ADC. Both signals will
appear mixed in the common audio channel.

The user manual mentions only DVK recording from the microphone. I did not
see the commands you are seeking in the CI-V command table.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Yeah, that second 'dit' looked a little slow on the uptake in the QST graph!

I am considering an upgrade from my Pro III to the 7600. There are a couple
of features I want in a newer rig that are not found in the Pro. Separate
audio (L & R) for the main and sub rx is one. I think this is still a
combined audio stream with a fader control.

The second is the ability to "poke" the internal memory locations to enable
the DVK from an external program. The Pro III does not have a CAT command
(published at least) that allows this. Does the new 7600 address this area?
This feature allows me (on a different radio) to store an audio CQ and use
the radio DVK instead of a computer soundcard.
