Ted: This is from the signalink web site:" The SignaLink SL-1 will work with ANY transceiver, receiver or
scanner, that has an external speaker output and a microphone input (required for
transmit
only).  The SignaLink SL-1+ will also work with your radio's Data and
Accessory Ports."
I deduct from the above that the older non+ SL-1 is designed for mic input use only.

I have an old SL-1 (Rev 0 ) which I tried to use on PSK31.

I made a cable to work through the ICOM 746 ACC1 connector.

However everything worked, but there was not enough audio output from the
SL-1 to drive the modulate the ICOM. The PTT function worked ok and the
computer audio output was at max.

I wondering if a USB sound card will be better?

The SL-1 PCB looks different from what is posted on their website and SL-1
manual and does not match the audio output Mod they published.

I am assuming the ACC1 Mod input level needs to be increased.

Note using the same set up with the MIC connector works perfectly.
