[ICOM] IC-7200

The IC-7200 was displayed at the Dayton Hamvention both this year and last.
Beware, it is NOT an all mode radio, i.e. no FM, duplex, PL, etc. which I
find disappointing especially in a package marketed as THE one radio to grab
for your emergency communications needs. In my area repeaters are plentiful,
even during regional disasters so I would want FM, duplex, and CTCSS/DCS
capabilities from 29Mhz on up along with its other features, modes, and
bands. Given today's level of integration and software control in consumer
electronics these additional features would have take little if any
additional physical space in the radio. As usual the crowds at Dayton were 3
to 5 deep so playing with it was too brief an experience to really determine
its strengths. I hope to try again once it hits the demo table at my local
HRO.

Greetings List...

I just read the IC-7200 review in QST, and this rig looks like it will do
everything I would need. However, after searching the archives for several
months past, I see no mention of this rig. Anybody seen/used/tried one?
Any comments?

Thanks es 73,
