[ICOM] IC-7600 report

Phil and Adam,

It is "really" unclear if the USB ports on the 7600 are USB1.1 or USB2.0
compliant. It looks like you will need to get an answer from ICOM. The only
reference I found is that the PC can be either USB1.1 or USB2.0, but that
doesn't mean anything as far as the rig is concerned. There is nothing in
the specs for the 7600 which gives any clue other than there are two USB
ports on the radio, a type A socket on the front and a type B socket on the
rear.

One note about the USB drivers. Even though most hams do not run 64 bit
platforms, the USB drivers available from ICOM do not support Windows XP 64
bit. That said, there is nothing that says Windows VISTA 64 is supported.

Hi Phil,

I believe that they are USB2, but am not sure.

Cheers for now, 73,

Hi Adam,

Just curious, but are the USB ports on the 7600 USB2 or USB1.1? I'm not sure
this is important, but it may be an advantage if they are of the quicker
speed.

I can't seem to find out which they are.

I currently use a 756Pro, and am thinking about an upgrade, but can't decide
whether to go for a ProIII or the new 7600.

Any thoughts?
