[ICOM] IC781 STATION FOR SALE

Hi John.
This is the real deal. I've been a ham since 1975. My previous call was VE7AVU, and I hold the calls VE7ABC, and VA7TT (used in various contests). I can understand your concern. I'm just trying to help out a fellow ham I've known for a number of years who is going through a tough time.
Any further questions, please feel to contact me. My home phone number is 604-530-1907.
Pictures attached for you.
73..
Graham

It's a common enough story, Paul. A phone call to the selling
station should be enough to calm your worries. As for red flags,
this doesn't wave any more than any other at-a-distance
transaction. I have worked with Graham and found him to be no more
suspicious than the rest of us. :)

That being said, it behooves anyone considering such a transaction to
perform their due diligence before moving forward. That's not
because Graham's actions are suspicious, but that's just the kind of
world we live in. With the world economy tanking, a lot of our
amateur brothers and sisters are down-sizing their stations and
    living arrangements.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't be cynical, Paul, but I would suggest
you channel that cynicism into the normal caution required of any
    transaction of this magnitude.

Best of luck to Graham and Jim and everyone else finding themselves
    in similar circumstances.

I would walk away- I lost $3000 a few years back to the same situation Ic-781. The seller was a crook, the sale was a complete scam. It had to be a ham because he knew too much about the 781. Your concerns are well founded. I wish I had walkeded away. Its not worth the risk.
