[ICOM] civ Noise on polling rig

Marios,

Have you tried using a faster poll rate?

I don't know what program you are using, but some programs do not respond
well with the CI-V Transceive turned on. I think it is a timing problem
processing the response data.

I have never heard any noise with my IC-735, however if I turn the volume up
real high, I can hear the CAT on my FT-920. It is much lower than the normal
audio, so it is not a problem.

I doubt if adding Opto-isolators will help, since it appears from your
description, it is the radio response to the poll that is causing the noise.
With Transceive off, there would not be any response going out of the radio
when you turn the dial. with Transceive on, there would be data being
transmitted by the radio each time you turn the dial.
