There are a number of reasons for allowing "out-of-band" transmit.

I have to censor my opinions about people who ask these questions.
It's not limited to a narrowness of vision that I find distressing.

And what would be the purpose of out of band transmit???

Hello all, I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend who is considering
purchasing a new IC-7000. He had seen a mod on mods.dk for extending the
transmit frequencies. One of the mods claimed 1-200 MHz and 400-480 MHz. He
is curious as to what people are actually getting. Does anyone have a
IC-7000 that has this modification, and if so, what do you get for your tx
   bandwidth? Thanks in advance.
