[ICOM] Cleaning out a dusty radio

I have not had serious problems using "canned air" cleaning any of my
equipment.

Hold the radio chassis in one hand, the can in the other, the prevents any
voltage differential between the two.  If your can has a non-painted ring
around the bottom or top, try to keep a finger on it for a potential static
drain.

I DID have a minor  problem blasting all the heat sink compound off the
thermistors of my my 706 MKII finals, however, so don't dwell in such areas,
if you do, it can be replaced with the thermal  goop radio shack sells.

I can't guarantee you won't have problems, but this is what I have done at
home and when I was working in an electronics lab, all went well for me.

I just got a used HF/VHF/UHF radio today and it is rather dusty inside-it
definitely looks used.  Cleaning the case and the front wasn't too tough,
but what is the best way to clean out the insides of a radio?  I thought
about the vacuum cleaner, but don't want anything that might cause static
electricity to the components.  It does seem to work ok as is.
