[ICOM] IC-706MkIIG & N2VZ Turbo Tuner

Well, at the risk of having K0BG say, "I told you so!"...

I found the issue - after going back to the uber source of definitive mobile
operating guidance - www.k0bg.com. The issue was that I had not installed
an RF choke on the coax at the base of the antenna. As such, RF was coming
into the truck on the coax... into the tuner... and causing the problem.

I installed five 3-inch turns of the RG8X and stuck an RF choke on it and
the problem has vanished. Moreover, the audio that I'm pumping from the rig
into the car stereo is now crystal clear with no interference. And I swear
that the RF noise level is down and the signals I hear are clearer.

Lesson learned - DON'T SKIP THE FUNDAMENTALS. Read the K0BG website and
it's all there... just like water... I'm the horse... now I'm drinking more.
