[ICOM] 706 MK II

Sorry Tom, I guess they are different.  You would think that the original power input circuits wouldn't have changed much.  Another suggestion I saw said to clean the contacts between the front panel and the radio.  Guess I can't be of much help.  You can find the service manual online for free download if you look long enough.  I got one for my plain 706 and I remember seeing a G.

Good Luck

Thanks Al, but I couldn't find a board that looked like the pictures and I
even pulled a couple of boards out to look under them..  I have the MK II --
not the MK II G.  Maybe they are different?

If one of the connections get oxydized, may not even be visible to the
eye, this is what happens.   I use a clean pencil eraser, and clean
the contacts on the head and body carefully, may take more than once.

This sounded promising, but no joy in Mudville. I even took the head apart
and cleaned the pins inside (after they make the right angle turn) as well
as the copper pads on the circuit board inside that they make contact with.

Guess it's time to order the service manual and find my owner's manual.

Thanks everyone for the tips and suggestions.
