Bob,
I was fortunate enough to be able to buy the IC-756PROIII and the 756PROII
is on an extended loan from a friend. We seem to slowly be transferring
various Amateur Radio toys between us and someday it will balance out.
:-)
I guess you don't know that I also have an IC-746PRO in the shack and an
IC_7000 in the van. I'm 51 and have been a ham for 34 years this month.
Much of that time I drooled and "made do". There reached a point where I
figured out that I would be dead before the "someday" would come for decent
radios, so I prioritized other needs and such. I also have a wonderfully
patient wife, N2FWI who understands that this is not only a hobby or a
release, but also something that keeps my mind active with the positive
overtones for family life, community life (e. g. Scouting and EMCOMM) and
for my work, which is somewhat related.
Again, I'm very blessed with the family, friends, interests, work and
tools/toys to keep things interesting and this makes it possible to
accomplish all sorts of good things.
Thanks & 73,
Gordon Beattie, W2TTT

Now for the hard question:
Where do you all get the money for all these radios?
