[ICOM] Markups on accessories

the electronics market is very competitive and the profit margin on tv's radios etc is slim. that is why you get hustled on the worthless unnecessary aftermarket warranty. all profit with almost no risk to the retailer. i do have to say that ge phone hustled me for an aftermarket warranty for my central air last year. one week before the one year expiration, the entire central air system failed. ge paid up fast. good decision on my part.
  aftermarket warranty with hira? thats your call. i have heard great things about them with catastrophic loss. icom and yaesu now have three year warranty. if your rig makes it that far, usaully it is good forever.....   73  paul w8jn
