I have been trying to track down a problem with my IC761 Power supply
for a little while now
and have just had the chance to try and do some more work on it.
My problem is that I can turn the radio on and everything looks normal (
I have the power supply
out and on my bench) and then suddenly the HV disappears. The radio
seems to be ok when checked temporarily on an external supply. What
seems more confusing is that I can disconnect the radio and with a
meter, see the HV on the terminals of the plug but then it will
disappear also, at all times I can see that the AC is going into the supply.
Today I checked and with a multimeter can see AC voltage on the pins of
Q2,3,4 & 5 which I
think suggests that they should be working, so now I am guessing that it
could be a problem with either L6 or L3 with an intermittent
disconnection. One thing I do notice is that L6 is not fixed
to the board or anywhere and I don't think has any fixing plate etc to
bolt it down with, is this normal or should it be fixed to the board
etc. I was thinking because of its physical floating
situation that it may be the cause of my problems.
Anyone with any suggestions please?
