[ICOM] Bandscope on Icom 7000

I have been looking at the on-line manual for the Icom 7000 in preparation for (hopefully) purchasing one, and am a little confused on how the bandscope works on it.  From what I gather from the manual, there are 3 different settings for the bandscope:

1. Single sweep with audio muted-fairly useless but would give a picture of the band, I guess.

2. Real time with the audio chopping in and out.

3. Real time with the audio suppressed 10db or so.

Am I correct that #2 and #3 have continuous real time band scopping?  Or are they more like a single sweep?  Is it usable at all in either condition as a real time scope (like on the 756 series)?  How bad does the audio get cut up in that setting?  Is it usable at all?
