John,
I've got an Alinco DX-70T, no "H", that might be for sale. I had a local
that was interested in it but he's stalling. I think I'll give him till
the end of the week and then list it on the swap pages or possibly ebay. I
have the box, manual, mic, power cord and mobile mounting bracket. When I
got the radio it had no receive audio. After trouble shooting the main
circuit board audio circuitry I could not find any problems. I then took
the control head apart and found the problem. The volume/squelch and
shift/RIT controls are on a separate circuit board that plugs into the
other board via a fragile eight pin connector. This had broken loose. The
previous owner had attempted to repair it with some soldering and some
glue. It didn't work and I suppose that is why he sold it. I was unable to
repair the connector so I just hard wired the controls to the main head
board and all works fine now. The front panel had a scratch on it right on
the freq readout so I put a new front panel on it. I also replaced the
back panel of the control head because one of the latches was broken. The
body of the radio looks good. It has some indented spots from the bracket.
Mic and cord look good. Let me know if you're interested. I'll take $350
for it.
