Subject: [ICOM] Icom 751A Woes: Finale

Good Morning All,

Anyone wanna buy a used (non-working) 751A...?! It'd make a GREAT SWL
receiver! Hi Hi.

I intalled the replacement main RF board A-OK into it yesterday, & ran a
test to-day...the receiver works well enough, but there is STILL no RF
output in transmit, & the collector current of the final stage goes hard
LEFT of the meter peg(!) when it's keyed.

And the doggone thing keeps keying dashes automatically in CW, even with the
keyer turned off...

How could such an otherwise FB rig have gone so very bad...? Sigh.

Is there much of a market out there for parts & pieces of these
transceivers...? I think it may well be time for a parting of the ways here
between this rig & me.
