Well - there you go.  If you have deep pockets, join the bidding war.  It all
depends what it is worth to you and how bad you want it.

AFAIK - yes.  There are older units like the ICOM 37, IC-38, etc etc.  And there
is the 900/901s.  I find the 220 modules are the most abundant of the 900/901
series.  Believe it or not, the 10m and 6m modules seem to be the most rare
there, the 23cm is easier to find.

The transverter might be your best choice.
