Yes I did, I found this information and everyone's input very useful.
I figured that the IC - 7000 had been out long enough for everyone to do
a good evaluation on it. I would be setting this radio up in my 1998 E
300 D Mercedes which has the battery stored under the back seat. My
car is a diesel so ignition noise should not be an issue.
Unfortunately I was not able to go up to Dayton this year due to the
fuel prices but I am planning to go next year, Especially if I can get
my car converted to veggie oil. The 7000 does sound like the radio to
go with since it's been out for awhile and to be a reliable radio, I
might even want to do a coast to coast trip when I get everything set up
and working. The SWR issue should not be a problem since I would like
to set the rig up with a screwdriver antenna so I could have
continuously tunable coverage, I understand these work really nicely.

It would be nice to find a biodiesel or veggie oil group on here if
anyone knows of one ? Has anyone on here converted their car to
veggie oil ?

Thank you,

Eric
