Then buy something else. I think it has some real pluses. Time will 
tell. No FM for this type of radio is no big deal. The performance 
gained by narrowing the doorway will make this a radio better suited to 
it's design . There are plenty of do it all type rigs out there to 
choose from. Use specific radios are getting rare these days and I 
applaud Icom for taking the step to create this type of rig.
