John, you're right, and I'm pretty sure the 450 bested the 706MKIIG by a
wide margin in dynamic range. I have only dial-up here at home and can't
check the ARRL reviews, but that's my recollection. Perhaps someone can
post the numbers.

The 706 series are great radios but there are compromises.
