[ICOM] WTD 735 Memory Battery

I would guess that ANY battery will explode
if severely overheated! Having said that,
I have had good success soldering directly
to NiCd batteries. The secret is to preparing
the surface well. I scrape the surface well
with a sharp knife so that more surface is
available. Use a 63/37 solder, a HOT tip
with quite a bit of mass, then get on and
off quickly. The shell of the cell then has
plenty of time to dissipate the heat before
any damage occurs.
