AND you can install TWO Collins Mechanical filters if you use the W4RT dual
filter board and two filters. That makes the IC-703 a gem. 2.1Kc SSB and
300Hz CW. Not too expensive either at $279 INSTALLED by the techs at W4RT or
save $30 and do it yourself. It isn't rocket science. :>)

One difference is that the IC-706 has the filters for SSB/CW in 9MHz IF and 
the 703 in 455kHz. The 455kHz is easier to get more selective and to 
minimize blowby. Also for the 703 you can install one Inrad filter.
