[ICOM] ICOM 703 No TX

Hello Bert,
	Welcome to IC-703 ownership.
For starters try putting a dummy load on the output thru an swr
meter so you can up the sensitivity or use a QRP Wattmeter. If it reads
about 50mw then the driver transistor has gone puffe! A common problem and
an easy one to fix. The transistor is available from ICOM USA in Ca and is
inexpensive BUT, it is surface mount and in a bit of a spot but not
difficult to get out with a bit of solder sucker braid and a good soldering
iron.
Had mine quit and thought I fixed it by re-heating the transistor
terminals but it quit in the middle of FYBO and I had to run home and fetch
the home station rig to complete the contest. Bummer.
The good news is that when you are done, it should run fine IF you
double check the bias adjustments per the service manual (available either
from ICOM or on Manuals.dk)
I ran a two hour long 100% duty cycle test into a dummy load and a
wattmeter at full tilt (10W) without failure or heating after the
replacement just to make sure it didn't do it again.
	Have fun.

My 703 non plus worked fine a week ago. Turned it on this morning and it has
absolutely no output. Receive is fine. How can this happen so suddenly, or
maybe I'm missing the obvious.

Did a full reset to no avail.
