You don't need any other equipment to try it in AM or FM. You should be
able to monitor modulated output on the RF output meter if you got audio
and RF. At least you know it's not the finals. It could a broken mike
lead in the cable, mike housing, or the connector. Sometimes moving,
light squeezing or twisting of the cable near the connector or at the
mike housing can bring it back to life, even if only momentarily, if you
have a broken or intermittent connection.
